WHO IT'S FOR

Built for rail training providers

SureTrain is training management for UK rail training providers: courses, course packs, trainers and assessors, clients, learners and Sentinel results, in one record system, kept as the work happens.

Who uses it

  • Training managers Scheduling, pre-course checks, results and records, in one place.

  • Trainers and assessors The offline trainer app, and their own "Up to date to train" page.

  • Clients Their own portal: staff competence, bookings and booking forms.

  • Learners Their own portal: their courses, a feedback form after the course, and reading support.

  • Auditors Read-only access to Self-check, Records and Backups, ending on the date you set.

If this is your week, SureTrain is for you

  • You run trainers and assessors.

You need to know who is up to date to train, and why, before you put them on a course.

  • You enter results on Sentinel.

You live with the 21-day deadline, counted from the day the course ends.

  • You keep course packs for audit.

You need every finished course and its pack, with gaps shown as you go and nothing deleted.

WHAT THE SYSTEM ENFORCES

Rules the software keeps for you

  • The Ready rule, enforced. A course can't move to Ready until every mandatory pre-course check is Passed or Not applicable and every client booking form is signed. SureTrain refuses and says why in plain words, and the database enforces the same rule.
  • Locked until Ready. The trainer app's register stays locked until the course is Ready and every mandatory pre-course check is passed.
  • Twenty-one days, fixed. The 21 days can't be changed, and a deadline on a weekend or bank holiday moves to the next working day for your region.
  • Masked by default. National Insurance numbers are hidden. Only the Super admin and Admin can reveal one, and they must give a reason.
  • Never colour alone. Statuses are always written as words, for example Up to date, Due in 12 days or Expired.
  • Locked means locked. Once a finished course pack is locked, the database refuses any further change to it.
WHAT IT DOESN'T DO

Where SureTrain stops

Four limits, stated before you ask.

  • No software can promise an audit outcome. SureTrain helps you see what's missing from your records. Your auditor makes the final decision.
  • Warnings show on screen only. They are not emailed.
  • No certificates are issued for PTS or other Sentinel courses.
  • The Self-check Suite is your own self-check. It's a check of your own records; your auditor makes the final decision.
